The DEWALT 20V Cordless SDS Rotary Hammer brings real rotary hammer capability to the DEWALT 20V lithium-ion platform. It is designed for users who need to drill into concrete, masonry, and brick without dragging an extension cord around. Because it uses DEWALT 20V batteries, it fits into an existing cordless tool system and keeps your work moving on the jobsite.
An SDS chuck allows fast bit changes and positive bit retention during heavy drilling. The cordless design gives you the freedom to work on ladders, in corners, or outside near a foundation. For applications like rebar doweling, anchor setting, and light chipping, this class of tool is a solid middle ground between a hammer drill and a larger corded rotary hammer.
Professional contractors and serious DIYers who already own DEWALT 20V tools will get the most value. If you need occasional concrete drilling without the weight and hassle of a corded machine, this tool is a practical choice.

Whether you’re installing anchors, drilling for rebar, or running conduit, the DEWALT 20V SDS rotary hammer gives you the freedom to move around the jobsite. No generator, no extension cord, no waiting for a crew member to unplug something.
For longer run times, use a higher-capacity DEWALT 20V battery. The tool is designed to run on the same packs as your other DEWALT 20V tools, so you can share batteries across the system.
It runs on DEWALT 20V Li-Ion batteries, the same platform used across most DEWALT cordless tools.
Rotary hammers in this class can handle light chipping and scaling when used with the appropriate chisel bit, but for heavy demolition a dedicated chipping hammer or larger SDS-Max tool is a better choice.
The SDS chuck holds bits with a spring-loaded mechanism, allowing faster bit changes and better power transfer than a standard three-jaw chuck.
The cordless design and typical tool weight make overhead anchor drilling more manageable, but use two hands and a dust extractor when possible.

Beast mode.
Drills concrete like it's butter. The battery lasts a good while. Very happy.
I've used this for several projects around the house, including drilling into brick and concrete. It has plenty of torque and doesn't bog down. The vibration is manageable, though it's not as smooth as a corded model. The battery charger is fast. I like that it's cordless, so I can take it anywhere. The only thing is it's a bit heavy, but that gives it power. Overall, a great tool.
I'm a 22-year-old DIYer and this is my first rotary hammer. It's awesome! I drilled a hole in my concrete wall for a TV mount in seconds. My dad was impressed. The battery life is decent. I'd recommend it.
I'm 51 and a handyman and I use this for small jobs. It works fine, but I usually reach for my corded one for longer tasks. This is perfect for quick work where I don't want to set up cords. The battery charge is good. It's a nice tool to have.
I'm 68, and at my age I appreciate the lack of cords. This hammer is easy to handle and doesn't vibrate my hands numb. I've used it to put up a shelf in the garage. The instructions were clear. It's a good tool.
It struggles with larger bits. I tried a 3/4 inch bit and it barely turned. With a smaller bit, it's fine. The battery drains quickly under load. Not bad for light duty.
I got this on sale. It's a solid rotary hammer. It did a great job on my concrete patio. The only downside is that it's a bit noisy.
This thing is a beast. I drilled through an old concrete sidewalk with ease. The battery lasted for the whole project. I almost bought a corded one, but now I'm glad I didn't. Highly recommend.
