Its 6-1/2-inch blade reaches 5,150 RPM, giving you fast cuts through lumber and sheet goods. The lightweight high-strength magnesium shoe keeps the saw stable and accurate, while the 0-50° bevel capacity handles angled cuts for rafters, valleys, and trim.
This tool-only model runs on any DEWALT 20V MAX battery, letting you stay cordless on the roof or out on the lot. The included 18-tooth carbide-tipped blade cuts 2x material at 90° and 45°, and the rubberized over-molded grip gives you a comfortable hold throughout the day. As a sidewinder, the blade sits on the right side of the motor for good visibility of the cut line.
For straight rips, the included rip fence guides the saw along the workpiece edge. To set the cut depth, just loosen the depth lever and adjust the shoe—the saw's maximum cut depth is 2-1/8 inches at 90° and 1-5/8 inches at 45°. The spindle lock makes blade changes easy without extra tools, and the shoe’s flat magnesium base slides smoothly across the work surface.
While the DCS391B is not a track-saw, you can use it with a straight-edge guide clamped to the work for long, accurate cuts. Many aftermarket guide systems are designed to clamp onto the shoe of a circ saw, but double-check that the guide’s track fits a 6-1/2-inch base. For even easier cuts, you can pair the saw with a DEWALT guide rail adapter if your system supports it.
Because this is a battery-powered circular saw, runtime depends on the battery you use. A 5Ah XR battery will give you a good number of cuts through dimension lumber, and the saw’s efficient motor helps maximize every charge. Batteries and chargers are sold separately, so this is a smart choice if you already own 20V MAX packs.
