The DEWALT 80,000 BTU forced air kerosene portable heater is built to heat large, well-ventilated spaces quickly—workshops, barns, construction sites, warehouses, and home remodeling projects. With a rugged two-piece split barrel that makes cleaning and maintenance easier, plus continuous electronic ignition and recessed controls, this DEWALT kerosene heater is designed for pros and committed DIYers who need dependable temporary heat.
The 80,000 BTU/h output covers up to 2,000 square feet and is ideal for open-area heating. The forced air design moves warm air where you need it, while the ergonomic handle and compact footprint make it easy to move around the jobsite. Recessed controls and a thermostat control reduce the chance of knobs or valves getting damaged on site.
Fuel-burning heaters need regular maintenance. The two-piece split barrel opens so you can clean the burner and interior without wrestling with a single welded housing. That keeps maintenance safer and faster, so the heater stays reliable through long work weeks.
This heater is CSA certified and intended for well-ventilated spaces. Never run it in an enclosed area. The continuous electronic ignition keeps a source of ignition present for unburned fuel, which reduces the chance of fuel pooling and collecting. Always follow the operating manual for clearances and refueling procedures.

This heater is sized for the gap between small salamanders and huge tow-behind units. At 80,000 BTU it handles roughly 2,000 square feet when the space is well ventilated and moderately insulated. If you're heating a two-car garage or a small workshop, you might be fine with a smaller unit, but for open barns and construction spaces, this output keeps the chill off.
Only use clean kerosene to reduce soot and maintenance. Refuel only when the heater is cool and off. Keep fuel in an approved container and store it away from the work area. A clean burner is more efficient and produces fewer odors.
Set the heater on a level, non-combustible surface and maintain clear space around the air inlet and outgoing air stream. Do not point it directly at flammable materials. For precise clearances, check the manual.
Only in well-ventilated areas. It is intended for construction sites, barns, warehouses, workshops, and similar spaces—never in an enclosed living area.
Standard kerosene (1-K grade is recommended). Never use gasoline or diesel unless the manual specifically allows it.
Let the heater cool completely, then open the two-piece barrel and clean the burner and interior according to the owner's manual. The split design makes this easier than on single-shell heaters.
Yes, the heater needs an electrical outlet to run the fan and ignition system. Check the power requirement in the manual before use.
Forced air heaters produce a noticeable blower noise, which is normal for this type of high-output temporary heating.

Heats my garage fast.
We use this in our workshop. It warms up the space quickly. It's loud, but that's expected.
I've used forced air heaters for years on construction sites, and this DEWALT is one of the best. The electronic ignition starts instantly. It heats a large area very quickly. The recessed controls are a nice safety feature. The split-barrel design is durable and doesn't tip over easily. The only issue is the fuel smell until it warms up, but that's normal. It's a great heater for the money.
Strong heater. It uses kerosene as expected. It's heavy to move around.
Bought this for my dad's barn. He loves it. It takes the chill off in minutes. The safety features are great. It does smell a bit at first, but that goes away. I'm happy with it.
Puts out a lot of heat.
