The DEWALT DCA1820 adapter allows you to power most DEWALT 18V tools with modern 20V MAX lithium-ion batteries. Instead of retiring older tools that still have plenty of life, this compact adapter bridges generations. Simply slot a compatible 20V MAX battery into the adapter and slide it onto your 18V tool's battery port. Not only does this give you more runtime and longer battery life, it also lets you consolidate your charging and battery lineup.
Compatible batteries: DEWALT 20V MAX XR batteries rated 1.5Ah, 2.0Ah, 3.0Ah, 4.0Ah, and 5.0Ah. The adapter will not work with DEWALT FLEXVOLT batteries (20V/60V). Compatible tools: The DCA1820 works with most DEWALT 18V tools, but avoid using it with Premium batteries in DC970 or DC759 tools. For a specific tool, double-check that the adapter fits your model's battery port and does not interfere with the tool's intended operation.
