A drywall screw gun has a depth-sensing nosepiece that stops driving at the same depth every time. This eliminates the guesswork of a standard drill and prevents over-sinking screws that can tear paper. The DW268 is designed for speed and repetition.
Clean dust buildup from the nose and clutch regularly. Use only genuine DEWALT nosepieces and depth stops for reliable depth control. If the clutch starts to slip, inspect the gears and clutch mechanism.
This is the bare tool version. It includes the screw gun and a depth adjustment locator. Check the package for user manual and any supplied accessories.

I've been hanging drywall for over thirty years, and I have to say this screw gun holds up just as well as the ones I used on commercial jobs back in the day. The Versa-Clutch is a game changer—it sinks every screw to the same depth without stripping. The 2500 RPM speed is plenty for production work. The body is comfortable to hold even after a full day. Only complaint is the weight, but you get used to it. Overall, a solid investment for any drywall contractor.
It does exactly what it says. Screws go in evenly and no more stripped heads. Love it!
I compared this to the older model I had. The clutch settings take a bit to dial in, but once set, the depth is consistent across the board. The motor has enough torque to drive even into slightly rotten wood without bogging down. The build quality feels solid, and the side handle is a nice touch for control. The only thing I'd change is the cord length—it's a bit short for large rooms. Otherwise, this is a reliable tool for the money.
