The DEWALT DCD130B FLEXVOLT 60V MAX Cordless Mixer/Drill is built to handle the toughest mixing jobs, from thinset and tile mortar to fiber-reinforced concrete. With over 2x the power of a corded mixer and a brushless motor, it delivers high torque for demanding applications. The anti-rotation E-Clutch system automatically shuts down the tool if it detects sudden twisting, giving you better control and safety.
This tool-only model runs on FLEXVOLT batteries (sold separately), which automatically change voltage when you use them in different tools. It can mix up to 19 premixed drywall buckets, 17 buckets of tile mortar, or 9 buckets of concrete on a single charge with a DCB606 6.0Ah battery. The variable-speed trigger and 3-position side handle let you position your hands for maximum control while mixing.
To get the best results from your DCD130B, choose the right mixing paddle for the material. For thinset and drywall compound, a standard 4-1/2" to 6" mortar paddle works well. For thicker materials like concrete or high-mortar mixes, use a heavy-duty 5" to 8" paddle with wider blades. The 1/2" chuck accepts most standard mixing paddles with round or hex shanks. Always start the mixer at low speed and gradually increase to avoid splashing, and keep the paddle fully submerged while mixing to minimize air entrainment. For best concrete mixing practices, mix in small batches and follow the manufacturer's water-to-mix ratios.

Pair your mixer with the right paddle to get proper material consistency. For most general mixing, a 5" diameter paddle is a good starting point. For thick mortar, use a paddle with large, flat blades. For paint and other lighter materials, an open spiral paddle works well. Always check that the paddle shaft is fully seated in the chuck and tightened before starting.
Pour the mixable material into a bucket and add about 80% of the required water. Insert the paddle, set the drill to low speed, and slowly push it to the bottom as it mixes. Add the remaining water gradually. Mix for two minutes, scrape the sides, then mix another two minutes. This prevents lumps and ensures a consistent batch. Always wear appropriate PPE—concrete dust is harmful.
