The included 30-foot cable is enough for most residential and light commercial jobs, letting you clean out P-traps and vertical drops in tubs and shower drains. The 2-piece guide hose attachment keeps the work area clean and gives you better control over the cable near the drain.
If your cable gets stuck inside the line, that's usually a sign of a tough obstruction. To release it, manually pull the cable back a few inches, then let the AUTOFEED re-engage. For AUTOFEED repair, check the cable for kinks and ensure the feed rollers and track are free of debris. Regular cleaning and lubrication of the cable will keep the system running smoothly.

The RIDGID 55808 is a professional-grade tool, but it's approachable for DIYers too. To avoid cable jams, always keep the cable straight as it enters the guide hose and let the AUTOFEED do the work — don't push. For clogs in P-traps, use the shorter guide hose for better control.
Disengage the AUTOFeed, pull the cable back a few inches, then re-engage to work through the clog. If it still jams, manually rotate the cable to dislodge the obstruction.
Common issues are caused by debris or kinks in the cable. Clean the feed rollers and track, straighten the cable, and check the cable for damage. Replace if necessary.

It cleared a stubborn tub clog in minutes. The 30-foot cable is plenty. The machine is a bit heavy, but it has wheels. It's well worth the price for a landlord.
