RIDGID K9-204+ Drill Requirements

Use a cordless drill rated at 1800–2500 RPM. Insert the drill into the drive socket, lock the housing, and feed the cable into the pipe. The drill supplies the rotation; the FlexShaft cable follows curves and keeps moving through the line.

Chain Knocker Selection and Setup

The included chain knocker expands inside the pipe to scour the walls. For tougher roots or scale, swap in a carbide chain. The machine accepts the full range of RIDGID FlexShaft heads, so you can match the cutter to the blockage.

I've been a plumber for over 40 years and I've used every kind of drain machine. The FlexShaft K9-204+ is a whole different animal. It's lightweight and hooks up to my cordless drill, so I don't have to drag a big motor down the stairs. The 70 feet of cable is plenty for most residential lines. The chain knocker really tears through roots and sludge. It flexes around bends without kinking. It's a bit tricky to get the hang of feeding it, but once you do, it saves a ton of time. I'd recommend it for any plumber who needs a quick solution.
