The DEWALT 20V MAX Cordless LED Work Light and Tripod Base Kit (DCL079R1) is a job-site lighting solution that replaces bulky, heat-generating halogen stands. With a natural white LED head, three brightness settings, and a telescoping pole that raises the light to seven feet, the DCL079R1 lets you control light placement and reduce shadows while you work. The kit includes a 20V MAX battery and charger, so it’s ready to run out of the box.
The high mode delivers 3000 lumens, bright enough to illuminate a full room or a large work area. Unlike halogen, the LED stays cool to the touch, and natural white light gives you better color accuracy for wiring, finishing, and detailed tasks.
You can dial the light up or down to match the task. Use the low setting for long battery life or a softer glow, and ramp up to high when you need full coverage. The multi-position swivel head lets you aim the beam exactly where you need it.
The telescoping pole extends the light head up to 7 feet to get the beam above the work zone, cutting down shadows and glare. A durable shroud protects the LED head from impacts, while the IP54 rating keeps out dust and water splashes. The integrated carry handle makes it easy to move from room to room or load into a truck.
The DCL079R1 kit ships with a DEWALT 20V MAX battery and a compatible charger, so you can power it up immediately. If you need a replacement charger, any DEWALT 20V MAX/18V charger (including the DCB112 or DCB118) will charge the battery. You can also use any other DEWALT 20V MAX battery you already own.
On the lower brightness setting, this work light runs for over 11 hours on a full charge, so it can handle a long shift without needing a recharge. Higher modes trade runtime for brightness, giving you flexibility on the job.

Simplify your gear bag by using the same 20V MAX batteries across your DEWALT tools. If you already have DEWALT 20V MAX batteries, the DCL079R1 shares their platform. Any DEWALT 20V MAX charger—whether it's the included one or a spare like the DCB112 or DCB118—will top up the battery.
For small repair work, keep the pole at a low height and aim the head down. For room-scale lighting, extend the pole fully and point the head across the space. Adjust the three brightness settings to avoid glare and conserve battery when full output isn't needed.

This light is amazing. The tripod extends high enough to light up my whole garage. Battery lasts for hours.
I bought this for working on my truck at night. The 3000 lumens are blinding but adjustable. The light is dimmable, which is great. The tripod is stable and can handle uneven ground. The battery charger is included, so it's ready out of the box. The head tilts and rotates. The only con is it's a bit heavy to carry around. Still, a great light for job sites.
Solid light, but the legs are a bit wobbly on concrete. The light output is excellent. It's worth the money.
I'm a plumber and I need good lighting in dark crawl spaces. This tripod light fits into tight areas when collapsed. The head angles make it easy to direct light. It's also nice to not have to deal with cords. The battery lasted long enough for a full day's work. I like that it has a power button on the back. Very happy with the purchase.

Great for camping too. The tripod is sturdy. The case included is low quality though.
I've used other work lights, and this one is by far the best. The light is even and doesn't have hotspots. The height is perfect. The base is heavy enough not to tip. It's easy to set up and take down. The battery indicator is helpful. I recommend it.
