This saw runs on every DEWALT 20V MAX battery—from the compact 2Ah pack to the big 6Ah/9Ah XR batteries—and works with all DEWALT 20V MAX chargers. Since it’s sold as a bare tool, you can use the batteries you already own from other DEWALT tools. As with any 20V MAX tool, battery and charger are sold separately.

For wood: a 6 TPI carbide-tipped blade cuts fast and leaves a decent finish. For metal: use a bi-metal blade with 10-14 TPI and slow the trigger speed. For nail-embedded lumber, choose a demolition blade with heavy-duty teeth.
The shoe pivots to stay flush against the work surface, which helps transfer weight and control the saw. In tight corners, you can angle the shoe to follow the cut without overloading the blade.
Keep a 5Ah or larger XR battery on the tool and a second one charging. The brushless motor extends runtime, but heavy cutting still draws power. Avoid running the battery all the way down—it reduces battery life.
