The anti-rotation E-Clutch shuts down the hammer in a bind-up situation, reducing torque reaction and helping you maintain control. Constant speed electronics keep the motor rpm steady under load, so you don’t lose drilling pace in tough concrete.
With 6.1 J of impact energy, the DCH481B handles the hardest aggregate concrete without bogging down. The German-engineered mechanism provides a solid, efficient stroke for both rotary drilling and chipping. It accepts SDS-Max bits up to 1-9/16 in. and can dry-core up to 3 in. in reinforced concrete.

A combination hammer can drill, chip, and sometimes break, but not all hammers are created equal. The SDS MAX system is built for the high impact forces of larger diameter bits and chisels, making it the choice for structural concrete work.
A 20V MAX hammer drill is fine for occasional masonry up to 1/2 inch. For production drilling, rebar dowels, and cores up to 3 inches, the DCH481B's 60V MAX motor and 6.1 J impact energy are in another class.
