The DEWALT DCD200B 20V MAX* XR Brushless Drain Snake is a cordless solution for clearing shower, sink, and tub drains without dragging out a heavy cord. It comes ready to use with a 5/16-inch x 25-foot black oxide drain cable and bulb head, and the removable inner drum accepts an optional 3/8-inch x 35-foot cable for longer runs. Because this is the tool-only version, it runs on the same 20V MAX batteries you already use with other DEWALT tools.
When you need to replace the cable, simply turn off the tool, remove the battery, and slide the nose cone forward to release the old cable. Drop in a fresh cable and slide the nose cone back into place. No wrenches or disassembly of the drum are needed for standard cable swaps.
The removable inner drum lets you switch between the supplied 25-foot cable and a longer 3/8-inch cable, and the fixed outer shroud protects tub and sink surfaces from the rotating drum. This means you can reach deeper clogs while keeping your work area safe.

Start with the drain pipe clear of standing water if possible. Feed the cable slowly into the drain while the tool is at low speed, and only increase speed when the cable is well into the pipe. The bulb head helps you feel the edges of the clog without puncturing the pipe.
Because the DCD200B is designed with a sliding nose cone, you can switch cables in seconds. For a 3/8-inch cable, remove the inner drum, install the larger cable, then slide the nose cone back. This lets you adapt the tool to different pipe lengths on the same job.
Clean the cable with a rag after running it through grease or soapy drains. Use silicone spray on the nose cone and drum hub to keep movement smooth. Avoid letting the cable sit coiled for weeks—hang it or pull it out fully so the wire stays straight.

I've had my plumbing business for 40 years. This little snake saves my back. It's light and I can drop it in a tub drain without dragging out the big machine.
