The DEWALT 20V MAX XR DCD801H1 Brushless Drill/Driver Kit is built for professionals who need consistent power and control. The 1/2-inch brushless motor delivers efficient performance, while the ANTI-ROTATION System monitors the tool's rotational motion and shuts it down if movement becomes excessive, helping you maintain control in unexpected kickback events. The two-speed transmission provides 0-650 and 0-2,000 RPM for matching speed to the task. A 3-position LED work light with 70 lumens and auto-shutoff illuminates dark corners. This kit includes a POWERSTACK 5Ah battery and charger, and it's Tool Connect chip ready for jobsite asset tracking.
DEWALT DCD801H1 Brushless Drill/Driver Kit: Professional Power and Control
This drill is part of the 20V MAX XR line, DEWALT's best-performing line of cordless tools. The brushless motor is more efficient than brushed designs, providing longer runtime and extended tool life. The 1/2-inch metal ratcheting chuck holds bits securely and prevents slipping, even under heavy load. The POWERSTACK battery gives 5Ah of runtime in a compact, pack-sized form factor.
Installing the Tool Connect Chip in Your DCD801
To add Tool Connect tracking, remove the battery and locate the compartment on the back of the tool. Slide the DEWALT Tool Connect chip (sold separately) into the dedicated slot until it clicks into place. The red LED on the drill will signal when the chip is installed and ready to pair with the Tool Connect app. Exact placement may vary by production batch, so check your user manual for the location diagram.
Replacing the Chuck on the DCD801
If the 1/2-in ratcheting chuck becomes worn or damaged, you can replace it. First remove the screw inside the chuck by turning it clockwise (left-hand thread). Then insert a hex key and turn the chuck counterclockwise to break it free from the spindle. Screw the new chuck on hand-tight, then tighten the internal screw. For safety, always disconnect the battery before servicing.
