Installing the Tool Connect Chip in Your DCD801

To add Tool Connect tracking, remove the battery and locate the compartment on the back of the tool. Slide the DEWALT Tool Connect chip (sold separately) into the dedicated slot until it clicks into place. The red LED on the drill will signal when the chip is installed and ready to pair with the Tool Connect app. Exact placement may vary by production batch, so check your user manual for the location diagram.

Replacing the Chuck on the DCD801

If the 1/2-in ratcheting chuck becomes worn or damaged, you can replace it. First remove the screw inside the chuck by turning it clockwise (left-hand thread). Then insert a hex key and turn the chuck counterclockwise to break it free from the spindle. Screw the new chuck on hand-tight, then tighten the internal screw.
