You don’t have to give up performance when you go cordless. The DCW210D1 uses the same 5-inch, 8-hole hook-and-loop pad as the corded DWE6423, so you can share discs across tools. The variable-speed dial matches the tool speed to the application—from a fast 8,000 OPM for rough sanding to a smooth 12,000 OPM for fine finishing. The brushless motor removes the brushes that wear out in older designs and provides more efficient use of the battery.
The sander’s low-profile height puts your hand closer to the work surface. That gives you better control when you’re sanding edges, contours, or inside corners. The rubber overmold grip keeps the tool secure in your hand even when the pad is spinning at full speed.

I was skeptical about a cordless sander, but this one surprised me. It has plenty of power for my projects and the 2Ah battery lasts about 30 minutes of continuous use, which is enough for me. The variable speed is useful. It's comfortable in the hand and the dust bag works well. The included bag is nice for storage. The charger charges the battery quickly. I'm happy with it.

Portable and effective.
I'm a contractor and I use this all day. The brushless motor gives good runtime, but I bought an extra battery. It's very smooth and the variable speed helps with different finishes. The dust collection is decent. The included bag is sturdy. The only reason I gave 4 stars is that the battery life could be longer for heavy use, but that's typical for compact tools. Still, a great tool.
