Categories : Tools & Hardware

The RIDGID Model 103 tubing cutter (cat. 32975) is a professional-grade close quarters cutter designed for small-diameter tubing in cramped spots. Its compact body and knurled feed screw let you control cutting pressure smoothly, while the high-quality steel cutting wheel produces clean, square cuts on copper, brass, aluminum, and plastic tubing from 1/8" to 5/8" (3-16 mm). A spare cutter wheel is stored inside the knob so you can keep working when the main wheel dulls.
The sturdy slide and wheel housing keep the cutter aligned and stable. The ergonomic knurled feed screw knob gives you precise control even with one hand, which makes this model especially useful for maintenance, HVAC, and plumbing work where space is limited.
Changing the cutter wheel is simple: remove the knob, turn the cutter wheel out, slide the old wheel from the housing, and press the new one in. The spare wheel from the knob gets you back to work without a trip to the truck. This model is a favorite among plumbers, HVAC techs, and DIYers who need a reliable, compact cutter in their pouch.

The RIDGID 103 is the kind of tool you keep within reach. When you're making final connections under a sink, in an equipment room, or behind a panel, reaching the tubing is only half the battle. The 103's short slide and small head give you the clearance you need. Its precise wheel and screw mechanism let you make smooth, even cuts without crushing thin-wall tubing.
Start with the cutting wheel aligned on the mark. Tighten the knob until the wheel just touches the tube. Rotate the cutter around the tube one full turn, then tighten a quarter turn. Repeat until the cut is complete. Keep the wheel square to the tube to avoid angled cuts.
Keep the wheel clean and check the spare wheel condition. A dull wheel puts extra pressure on the tube and can produce a rough edge. Replace it when it no longer scores cleanly. With proper care, this cutter will handle thousands of cuts.
Unscrew the knob and remove it from the cutter. Rotate the cutting wheel so it aligns with the slot, then pull the wheel straight out. Press the new wheel into place and reassemble. The spare wheel stored in the knob is ready when you need it.
Inside the feed screw knob. Unscrew the knob and the spare wheel is tucked inside.
The RIDGID 103 is intended for copper, brass, aluminum, and plastic tubing. For PVC, use a plastic pipe cutter to get clean, burr-free cuts.
It means the cutter is compact enough to fit into tight, hard-to-reach areas where a standard tubing cutter won't clear, such as close to a wall or in a support bracket.
No, the RIDGID 103 is a compact cutter. Use a separate reamer or deburring tool for finishing work.

Great cutter.
Works well in tight spots. The wheel is sharp.
I've been a plumber for 40 years. This is my go-to for tight spaces. It cuts copper cleanly without crushing. The body is sturdy. It's easy to rotate. Definitely a must-have.
It's small and effective. Cuts tubing quickly.
This cutter is perfect for close quarters. I used it under a sink to cut old pipes. It took a bit of work but it made a clean cut. Much easier than a hacksaw.
My husband is a plumber and he swears by this tool. He says it's the best close quarters cutter. I'm glad we found it.
Small but mighty.
It works. The knob is a bit small.
I bought this for my workshop. It handles 1/2 inch copper easily. The close quarters design is genius. It's a quality tool.
It's fine but I prefer a larger cutter for normal spaces. This is for tight spots only.
Great quality. RIDGID makes excellent tools.
Used it to cut PVC for a garden project. Cuts were clean. Very easy to use. I'm pleased.
