The RIDGID SeeSnake Compact C40 System (catalog number 63828) is a complete remote inspection package for plumbers and drain techs working in 1.5–6 in lines. It pairs the Compact C40 reel—with a 131-foot push cable and self-leveling camera head—with the CS6x VERSA digital recording monitor, plus an 18V battery and charger for job-site power.
RIDGID SeeSnake Compact C40 Inspection System: Built for Tight Lines
The 0.26-inch push cable is thinner than the M40's cable, so it slips through tight bends and smaller branch lines while still pushing through long runs. The Flexmitter sonde helps you locate the camera head underground, and the CS6x VERSA monitor displays and records HDR video. TruSense sensors and the TiltSense inclinometer give you more than a picture: you get environmental data and pipe tilt info to help diagnose hidden problems.
C40 Pipe Range and Push Cable Care
The C40 covers pipes from 1.5 to 6 in, making it a great choice for residential drains, tub, and lav lines. Cable care is critical: always hand-feed the cable into the line, avoid forcing it against a hard stop, and wipe it clean after each use to prevent grit from being wound back onto the drum. If the cable kinks, don't try to straighten it under power—carefully work out the kink by hand or replace the cable if it's damaged.
Choosing Between C40 and M40
Use the C40 when you need a thinner cable for 1.5–6 in pipe and tighter bends. Choose the M40 when your work includes larger mains and you need the extra stiffness of a 0.36-in cable for longer pushes. Both systems use the same CS6x VERSA monitor, so you can add the other reel later without buying a second monitor.
