The DEWALT DCE555D2 20V MAX Drywall Cut-Out Tool is designed for fast, clean cuts in drywall, plasterboard, and paneling. Its 26,000 RPM brushless motor powers through material while staying compact and lightweight for overhead work. The tool-free bit change system lets you swap bits and collets without a wrench, and the forward-positioned on/off button is easy to reach during a cut.
DEWALT DCE555D2 Cut-Out Tool: Bits That Fit
This drywall cutter accepts 1/8-in, 5/32-in, and 1/4-in bits with matching collets. For most drywall cut-out work, a standard 1/8-in or 5/32-in spiral bit is the best choice because it produces clean edges without excessive dust. Use the 1/4-in collet for larger-diameter bits when cutting thicker panels or making wider openings. The depth guide keeps bit engagement consistent, so you can control cut depth precisely.
What’s Included in the DCE555D2 Kit
The kit comes with the cut-out tool, two 20V MAX batteries, a charger, and the adjustable depth guide attached to the tool.
Choose the Right Bits for Your DEWALT DCE555
For standard drywall cut-outs, look for 1/8-in or 5/32-in double-cut carbide bits. If you're cutting through cement board or other abrasive material, select a carbide-tipped bit rated for that work. Always make sure the bit shank matches the collet installed in the tool. Swapping to the 1/4-in collet opens up a wider range of high-speed router bits, but keep speed within the bit's rated RPM.
