The DEWALT DCS590WW1 is a 20V MAX XR brushless circular saw built for tough cutting applications. It delivers up to 1,700 MWO (Maximum Watts Out) and 5,500 RPM, making it one of the most powerful cordless saws in the 20V MAX line. The brushless motor is paired with an electric brake that stops the blade quickly when you release the trigger, improving safety and cut precision.
The blade is on the right side of the motor, which gives you a clear view of the cut line for many right-handed users. The top handle design and optimized grip make it easier to control on challenging job sites. With a maximum depth of cut of 2-9/16 inches at 90° and 2 inches at 45°, it handles dimensional lumber and sheet goods with ease.
FLEXVOLT power is optimized through the brushless motor, giving you up to 368 cuts per charge (based on 2x10 pine with a 6.0Ah battery). That means fewer battery swaps and longer runtimes for production work.
This saw uses standard 7-1/4-inch circular saw blades with a 5/8-inch arbor. Most quality blades will fit, but always confirm the blade's max RPM rating is at least 5,500 RPM. For framing lumber, use a combination or ripping blade with a 24–30 tooth count. For sheet goods, a 40-tooth finish blade will give you a cleaner cut with fewer splinters. Make sure the blade's maximum RPM rating is at least 5,500.
Keep the base plate (shoe) clean and wax it periodically for smoother slides. Use the included rip fence for accurate rips. Store the saw with the blade guard closed and the battery removed to preserve charge.

I've used many circular saws over the years, and this DEWALT is up there with the best. The brushless motor gives plenty of power for ripping plywood and cutting 2x4s. The electric brake stops the blade quickly, which is a great safety feature. It comes with a battery and charger, so you're ready to go out of the box. The 7-1/4" blade cuts through pressure-treated lumber without bogging down. The only thing I'd improve is the base plate could be thicker, but it's fine for most jobs. I'd definitely recommend it to any DIYer or pro.
