This laser detector pairs with compatible green-beam laser levels, extending their visibility well beyond what the eye can see. The DW0892G is built for green-beam detection. It works with DEWALT green rotary and line lasers and is commonly used with other green laser levels that emit a similar pulse pattern. Because it has a dedicated green-line sensor, it picks up the beam clearly in direct sun and at longer range. If you’re using a red-beam laser, choose a red-wavelength detector instead—this model is not tuned for red beams.
With a 330 ft maximum working radius, the DW0892G maintains a solid lock on the laser line across large rooms and outdoor sites. The backlit LCD shows beam position and signal strength, so you can read it in low light or bright sun. An adjustable audio signal gives you a beep that gets clearer as you center on the line—great when the display is out of your direct line of sight.

When a laser line is hard to see, the DW0892G takes over. Walk the work area and the audio guides you to the beam, while the LCD confirms line position. It’s especially useful for installing ceiling grids, laying out footings, and aligning cabinets.
Check that your laser operates at a green wavelength. The DW0892G is not designed for red lasers. Most DEWALT green laser levels use a pulse mode that the detector reads at long range; other green lasers may work if they emit the same wavelength.
The detector attaches to a variety of surfaces. Stick it to a steel beam with the magnets or clamp it to a grade rod using the heavy-duty clamp. The top magnets also make it easy to store on a metal toolbox between measurements.

I use this for outdoor grading. The detector picks up the beam even in bright sun. The LCD is clear and the audible beep is loud enough. It took me a minute to figure out the mounting clip, but once I did, it was easy. The range is impressive. I wish it came with a hard case.
