Replacing the hook-and-loop sanding pad is simple: remove the pad retention screw (located in the center of the pad), lift off the old pad, and attach the new pad. Make sure the holes align with the dust ports. Replacement pads are available from DEWALT and aftermarket sources.
The sander's dust port fits directly to DEWALT DWV010 or DWV012 dust extractors. For other vacuums with a 1-1/4-inch hose, use the DWV9000 Universal Quick Connector (sold separately). The bag attaches with one hand and locks securely.

To replace the hook-and-loop pad, first unplug the sander. Locate the Phillips screw in the center of the pad and remove it. Gently peel the old pad off the backing plate. Line up the new pad so the dust holes align, press it into place, and reinstall the screw. Always test on a scrap piece.
For a cleaner work area, connect the sander to a DEWALT dust extractor or a shop vac using the DWV9000 adapter. The integrated dust bag is ideal for small jobs. Regularly empty the bag to maintain strong suction.
