The DEWALT Rooftop Safety Kit is an all-in-one fall protection system for anyone working on roofs. It includes the DEWALT D1000 harness, a 50-foot vertical lifeline with integrated energy absorber, and a reusable steel roof anchor. The kit meets OSHA/ANSI requirements and comes in a rugged container for easy transport and storage. Whether you're a roofing contractor or a homeowner tackling a repair, this kit is designed to be simple to set up and comfortable to wear.
Fall protection needs to be easy to deploy, or it won't get used. The D1000 harness has five points of adjustment, a pass-through chest strap, and tongue buckle leg connections, so you can put it on and dial in the fit in about a minute. The 50-foot vertical lifeline gives you room to move across the roof while keeping you attached to a secure anchor. The reusable steel anchor is coated and includes fasteners, and its hinged design lets it sit flush on most roof pitches.
Start by securing the reusable roof anchor to the roof ridge or a solid structural point using the supplied fasteners. Next, attach the vertical lifeline's snap hook to the anchor D-ring. Then put on the D1000 harness, adjust the shoulder straps, chest strap, and leg straps until snug, and clip the lifeline's other end to your harness dorsal D-ring. Once connected, you can move along the roofline while the system keeps you tied off.
The D1000 harness uses a pass-through chest strap that opens fully, so you can step in without pulling the harness over your head. The tongue-buckle leg straps are easy to click into place. Use the five adjustment points to keep the harness close to your body; a properly fitted harness distributes forces during a fall and is far more comfortable during a full day of roofing.
This kit is designed for worker safety and peace of mind. The vertical lifeline includes an energy absorber to reduce fall forces, and the anchor's hinged design helps it stay in position on slopes. The durable container keeps everything clean and organized between jobs, so the next setup is just as fast.

Roof work is dangerous, and a fall protection kit is only effective if it's easy to use and comfortable enough to keep on. The DEWALT Rooftop Safety Kit is engineered to make the right thing the easy thing.
You get the D1000 harness, a 50-foot vertical lifeline with integrated energy absorber, a reusable roof anchor, and a tough storage container. That's the core set you need for most residential roofing tasks, with no missing pieces.
Place the anchor so it's perpendicular to the ridge and use all supplied fasteners. Attach the lifeline to the anchor's D-ring and route the rope so it won't tangle underfoot. After you're clipped in, keep the lifeline as vertical as possible to reduce swing fall risk. Do a test tug to confirm your connections before moving to the edge.
The harness should be snug enough that you cannot pull it down over your shoulders when the straps are tight, but still allow full range of motion. Adjust the chest strap to sit mid-chest and the leg straps so they are secure but not digging in. A wise move is to have a buddy double-check all buckles and tongues before you start.
No fall protection system eliminates risk. The kit helps you stay tied off, but it's still essential to work carefully, inspect all components before every use, and replace anything that shows wear. If you have any doubts, consult a qualified safety professional.
Secure the roof anchor to a solid structural point, attach the vertical lifeline to the anchor, then fit the D1000 harness on your body and clip the lifeline to your harness dorsal D-ring. Always follow the instructions in the product manual.
The anchor has a hinged design that allows it to rest on most roof slopes, from low-pitch to steep residential roofs. Check that the surface is solid before anchoring.
Loosen the shoulder and leg straps, put the harness on, and then tighten the shoulder straps first, followed by the chest strap and leg straps. Aim for a snug fit that is comfortable but does not restrict movement.
Yes, the lifeline uses a snap hook that can be connected and disconnected from the anchor. It is also separate from the harness for easy storage and replacement.
As long as the lifeline is compatible with your harness dorsal D-ring and meets applicable safety standards, it should work. Always check manufacturer instructions and regulations.
A must for roofers.
The harness is comfortable and the lifeline is long enough for most roofs. The anchor is easy to install.
I bought this kit for my roofing crew. The harnesses are well made and the buckles are easy to adjust. The 50-foot lifeline gives plenty of mobility. The anchor is reusable and works as described. We've used it on several jobs now and it gives peace of mind. The instructions are clear. The only thing I'd change is to include a carrying bag.
It's a good kit, but I wish the harness was a little more breathable. It gets hot in the summer. The anchor is solid.
