Accuracy is rated at ±1/8 inch at 30 feet—plenty for most construction and remodeling tasks. If you ever need to check or adjust the accuracy, you can perform a simple bounce test against a reference surface with a measuring tape. The unit features a built-in pendulum that must be unlocked during transport and locks automatically when the laser is switched off.
Outdoors or in bright light, the red beam can be hard to see. Mount the optional DEWALT detector to the laser to pick up the beam up to 165 feet away. This makes the tool usable for grading and long runs where the naked eye can’t follow the line.
