The PSA pad makes sandpaper changes quick—just peel and stick. Over time, you may need a DWE6420 pad replacement. To change the pad, remove the center screw, take off the worn pad, align the new pad, and tighten the screw. For a DWE6420 sanding pad change, always disconnect power first. The sander's dust port also accepts a 1-1/4" hose with the DWV9000 universal connector.

Work through grits from coarser to finer, and use a light touch. Let the sander do the work—excessive pressure leaves swirl marks. Keep the PSA pad clean for maximum adhesion.

It sands well enough, but I'm not thrilled with the dust bag. It doesn't seal perfectly and dust gets everywhere. The hook-and-loop pad also needs to be aligned carefully. I've had better sanders from DeWalt. It's not a bad tool, just not my favorite.
